Chicago IL Real Estate

Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago ILLooking for reasons to move to Chicago? The largest city in Illinois has plenty of them. For starters the Chicago IL real estate market in IL offers some good investment potential in the right neighborhoods. For those willing to commute from the suburbs there is even better property value growth. But a better reason than property value is for the all the culture that Chicago has to offer.

Some of the world's best museums are found in Chicago. The Field Museum is probably the gem of all of Chicago's museums and is famous throughout the world for some of it magnificent exhibits. Most notably is "Sue", the world's most complete fossil of a tyrannosaurus rex made up of over 200 preserved bones all from the animal, not pieced together from several like every other T-Rex on display in the world. The sight is a favorite for young children and adults alike. The museum also opened a new exhibit this year featuring 13,000 years of civilizations in the Americas before Europeans. This is a rare theme to be found anywhere and its in Chicago IL right now!

Another world class museum found in Chicago is the Museum of Science and Industry. One of the best displays to take in is the U-505 World War II submarine. On June 4th, 1944 the USS Chatelain forced the German sub out of the water leading to its capture. The actual captured submarine is on display in the museum and is the only one in the United States. There is also a CSI or crime scene investigation exhibit. It is an interactive exhibit that sets the scene and gives clues. The goal is to crack the case before the end of the exhibit. The Museum of Science and Industry also has special free days throughout the year to make sure that everyone has a chance to see their unique exhibits.

One of a kind museum displays are just a small part of what Chicago has to offer. The Shedd Aquarium is one of the city's most popular attractions. Shedd has nearly doubled in size, growing from 225,000 square feet when the original building was completed in 1929 to 480,500 square feet with the addition of the Oceanarium and Wild Reef. There are sea creatures from all corners of the globe found inside the aquarium. Watch divers feed sharks, dolphins do tricks, and thousands of different fish swim in their own re-created environment.

Yes, Chicago is a great place to live. It could take a month just to see everything in one of these great institutions. There are dozens that haven't even been mentioned. Come see everything that Chicago IL has to offer.
