Denver CO Homes For Sale

Denver CO Homes For SaleDenver, CO did not have a simple beginning. It was not simply created as a trading center that continued to blossom into a major city. Instead it first settled by a couple of gold prospectors and was named Montana City. That settlement quickly failed, but the area resurrected under the guidance of a land speculator from eastern Kansas by the name of General William Larimer.

Then the first homes were log cabins in a frontier town on the land that is now downtown Denver’s Confluence Park. The city grew quickly growing in leaps and bounds as the frontier developed from territories into states.

Now Denver CO homes for sale are on lots in one of 79 official city neighborhoods. Denver CO Homes for sale are at a much more reasonable price than those in major urban area such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, or Boston.

Of course the saloons where parcels of lands were won and lost on a hand of cards developed as well, becoming the neighborhood bars and exciting nightlife of downtown neighborhood such as LoDo. The trading posts blossomed as well making Denver one the top ten business centers in the nation.

Denver’s location, halfway between the major economic cities of Chicago and the West Coast, made the city a natural distribution center for goods heading back and forth between the West Coast and the Midwest. The perfect location brought other business opportunities, including defense companies, the U.S. Mint, and high tech companies that found a home here in the 1990s.

All this growth has created excellent career opportunities and a city that is great place to buy a home and settle down. The more spacious neighborhoods further away from downtown Denver offer a choice of a more suburban feel or one of a small independent town with local groceries and entertainment.

The city of Denver has a large public school system-Denver Public Schools- that has 73 elementary schools, 15 K-8 schools, 17 middle schools, 14 high schools, and 19 charter schools. There are also plenty of private schools to choose from as well, run by Catholic denominations, Jewish institutions, or non-denominational institutions.

The city is a great place to raise children and is a hub for new families, with the median age being only 33 and married couples making up almost half of Denver’s half-million population.

Museums and parks exist throughout the city, running from downtown to the outskirts of the city to the Rockies, just west of the city.
