Austin area home sales continue to drop, but prices riseAustin Business Journal Central Texas home sales dropped again in February but sales prices increased slightly. According to the Austin Board of Realtors, single-family home sales totaled 1,553, or a 10 percent drop compared with the same month last year. The median price of single-family properties rose 2 percent from a year ago to $180,000. Single-family property sales in Central Texas altogether totaled $363 million last month, also a 10 percent decrease, and homes sat on the market an average of 75 days, the report says.
