Located just off of Southwest Parkway and Mopac, Travis Country is a very central and desireable Southwest Austin neighborhood with homes from the mid $200's to high $400's.

The original Travis Country started being developed in 1974. During the Austin real estate slump in the mid 1980's, Travis Country was almost forgotten about with builders opting to hold their lots instead of build new homes. In the early 1990's Travis Country was once again a neighborhood in demand and builder's started building out on the remaining lots. Today the neighborhood is built out and becoming a very fast appreciating area of Southwest Austin.

Travis Country is surrounded by the Barton Creek Greenbelt and neighborhood amenties include 8 tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, 3 baksetball courts, and a couple playgrounds. There are green areas throughout the subdivision including Gaines Creek Park and a number of Barton Creek Greenbelt enterances to hiking and biking trails. Twin Falls, a popular Austin swimming hole within the greenbelt, is about a 15 minute walk from Travis Country.

With all the wonderful neighborhood amenities and the short drive to downtown, Travis Country is a neighborhood poised for appreciation. It's currently one of the lower priced neighborhoods on the Barton Creek Greenbelt.

AMD buys new site in Southwest Austin

AUSTIN (statesman.com) – Approximately 58 acres at Southwest Parkway and William Cannon Dr. is being sold for more than $21 million to Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD). Stratus Properties is the seller.

AMD plans to build an 860,000-square-foot campus where it will consolidate its 2,000 central Texas office workers. Groundbreaking is planned for next spring.

AMD has secured five-year options to purchase three additional tracts totaling 42 acres. The site has been approved for 760,000 square feet of office space. The additional land is directly east of the new campus site.
